Similar Mine Misfortunes
In looking through media coverage, I've noticed some similarities between the mining collapse in West Virginia and the mining collapse in Mexico. Although the collapse in Mexico involved significantly more casualties, they both resulted from faulty regulations and poor mining conditions. The outcry from both was powerful in the respective locales they occurred in. It just seems an interesting thread brining us together, that the situation of the poor in the United States has many similarities to the life of the poor in Mexico, something you would not necessarily consider.
