Brazil 2016 Olympics
So being from Chicago, it was pretty tough to handle the news of Chicago being the first to be kicked out of the running for the 2016 Olympics. Being in Latin American Studies though, I guess I have to be supportive of Brazil's winning though. In reality I'm not really that torn up about it, but it's kind of my duty as a Chicagoan. Anyways, Brazil winning the bid is not only good for Brazil, but Latin America as a whole. Just recently the Latin American community gathered in Copenhagen to congratulate Brazil. From Venezuela, to Mexico the Latin American community is rallying around the good news, and world exposure. In essence, Latin America needed this more than the United States.
