Chinese in Cuba
After today's discussion of immigration to Latin America, I found an article on yahoo about Chinese immigrants living in Cuba today. Many of these individuals, who have lived in the Caribbean for decades, consider themselves to be equally as Cuban as Chinese. According to Julio Li, "I speak Spanish, and I speak Chinese. I drink Cuban rum, and Chinese tea." The two very distinct and different cultures are blended together; this is merely one example of the true melting pot that Latin America has become. For more information about this article and the presence of Chinese culture in Cuba, please check this out: "Havana's China immigrants keep traditions".
