What Uncle Sam Really Wants
These articles are by Noam Chomsky, a left-leaning scholar and a staunch critic of United States foreign policy. The first section is about the United State's good neighbor policy toward Latin America and the conflict and death which ensued in different targeted countries. Following are interventions gone wrong in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Panama. I think these events are very important to know about considering the citizens of these countries still resent the US government for these unjust actions. Meanwhile, the majority of Americans are entirely unaware of them. This ignorance is party due to the biased media coverage which occured during these conflicts. It is pretty amazing to see the what the press did or did not cover, and it doesn't surprise me that I didn't know about these incedents until I read about them in these articles.
